Welcome to the new group

I am pleased that we now have sufficient CLE members interested in starting this group and for those that may want to try this very interesting even if at times frustrating sport then please join the discussion group.

As some of you are aware I have been involved in the sport for over 50 years at all levels and still compete nationally in the UK.  The sport is not as expensive as you may think with the cost of a gun, should you wish to buy, being as little as a couple of hundred euros.  A more expensive gun does not make you a better shooter. For beginners, I suggest learning the correct and safe way to shoot before even pulling the trigger and this is where we already have several very experienced members who can help.

Fun Quiz afternoon

So many members arrived at the venue in Pleuville that concern was, would there be enough seating. The afternoon had been arranged by new committee members Malcolm, Jenny, Mike and Alison and hosted by Brigitte the local bar person. A shame she could not understand the questions as she speaks very little English. The Maire of Pleuville called in and was pleased to see that we were supporting the local community.

It is always a difficulty of integration, but CLE constantly strives to achieve at least some with communities, so if you have a local bar that may wish to host us, let us know. The new website is for interaction amongst members so please use it to full advantage.

Back to the quiz, congratulations to the winning team and to the KOJAK losers who I hope are still sucking their lollies.

Eating Out- Restaurant Le Moulin de Condac 24/10/2017

Our monthly Eating Out for October was held at the Moulin de Condac near Ruffec. The weather was so good that we were able to sit out on the terrace overlooking the river. Indeed the only problem was to avoid too much sun! The menu for €13 was first class. For entrée there was a choice of Sardine Profiteroles or Tarte de Maison (the latter resembling a large portion of pork pie) Plat was salmon or chicken both beautifully presented and tasty. Dessert was cheese or Tarte de Pomme. A very enjoyable afternoon.

For November we have our Christmas Lunch on the 26th at Etagnac to look forward to.Places are still available with details and menu choices available from the website.

Moulin de Cindac

Unfortunately we cannot join you but the Moulin de Condac is one of our favourite local restaurants and I’m sure everyone who is going will definitely enjoy it as the food is excellent.  It’s even nicer in the summer sitting eating on the decking over the river
